Cheddar Basil Cauliflower

If you grow your own basil or like to keep it on hand, you'll want to save some for a side of flavorful, versatile cauliflower. I love how this dish not only warms you up in winter but also is delicious in summer made with garden-fresh produce.

Ingredients

  • 2-1/2 cups small fresh cauliflowerets
  • 1 tablespoon white wine or water
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons minced fresh basil or 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • 1 teaspoon canola oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  • 1. In a small saucepan, combine the first 7 ingredients. Cover and cook over medium heat until cauliflower is tender, 10-12 minutes, stirring once. Transfer to a small serving bowl; sprinkle with cheese.
